I now realize that this blog post
is incredibly late. My apologies guys, I won’t procrastinate this much during
the school year. I’m looking forward to seeing you guys again tomorrow at
school, and I hope you had a great summer! AP Comp looks like it promises to be
an adventure. With that, here’s a little bit about me.
Since I was very young, I have
loved swimming. I can still remember when I could hardly swim at all and would
monkey around the side of the pool just to be in the water. Things have changed
a little bit now, but I am still swimming. I swim for the high school team in
the winter (those of you who haven’t tried it, I highly recommend it), and the
club team in the summer. I love the sport and am looking to continue with it
past high school.
Outside of the pool, my life is
very relaxing (which I am thrilled about). Most of my thoughts and
conversations revolve around food, and most of the money I earn in the summer
is spent during my various restaurant runs the rest of the year. When I manage
to leave the kitchen, I love to be outside. Ultimate Frisbee has been one of my
favorite hobbies, and I am always willing to join a game. I love waterskiing and tubing on the lake in
the summer, and I am attempting to learn how to slalom on skis. Watching TV
does not happen much in my life, but when it does, I love watching sports.
Football and basketball season are a lively time in the Mischio household, and
March Madness is almost like a month-long holiday.
I only got started with this blog
now because I was caught up in the whirlwind that we have come to know as our
summer. For those of you who swim in the summer, you can relate to what I’m
saying when I say that our days were jam-packed full of activities from start
until finish. I started my mornings with swim practice at the Goodman pool in
Madison. From there I would either bike or drive to my job downtown. I worked
as a lab assistant in an asphalt lab in Engineering Hall this summer; I enjoyed
it quite a bit, and even learned a thing or two by accident. To prepare for
cross country in the fall, I went for a run in the afternoons and evenings
after work. After this, if I had any energy left, I would hang out with my
friends. My family took a vacation to
California, and if you have not had the opportunity to travel there, talk to
your parents about it. It is maybe one of most beautiful places you will ever
visit. This summer was a great one, and I’ll enter this school year with a
refreshed mind. See you guys tomorrow and enjoy your last day of summer!
Hey, better late than never! I too work downtown in a lab (biotechnology) so I know how hectic downtown can get. Good luck on your swim season and see you tomorrow!
